As a default, this check box is selected and your computer will be automatically scanned on a schedule.

• To disable automatic scheduled scans, clear the check box.

• To enable automatic scheduled scans, select the check box.

• As a default, this check box is selected and the scan will start only if your computer has been idle for the amount of time you specify. (Idle means you have not moved the mouse/pointing device or used the keyboard.)

The default amount of time is 10 minutes. You can enter from 1 to 90 minutes.

• Clear the check box if you want scheduling scanning to begin regardless of whether the computer has been idle.

• As a default, this check box is selected and a scheduled scan will stop if you start to use your computer during the scan.

• Clear the check box if you want scheduling scanning to continue regardless of whether the computer is idle. (Idle means you have not moved the mouse/pointing device or used the keyboard.)

The Schedule section shows the current scheduled frequency and the date and time of the next scheduled scan.

 

The default is to scan every 3 days.

 

To change the schedule, click Change (described below).

To change the schedule, click Change. The window expands to show the following fields.  

• Setting the frequency:

• Interval Type. Select minutes, hours, days, weeks, or months.

• Interval Setting. Enter the number for each interval. For example if you selected "days" for the interval type, enter the number of days you want to scan here.  

• Setting the day and time you want the schedule to start:

• Start Date. Click the down arrow to open a calendar, and then click on the desired start date.

• Start Time. Type in the start time, or use the up and down arrows. Ideally, select when you are usually not using the computer.

• Setting actions when scan is postponed or not initiated (due to PC being in use):

From the If Late list, choose one of the following:

• Run immediately (This is the default.)

• Run at next scheduled time

• Disable
